Web Designer / User Experience expert within the Web Portal application development team. Our team is responsible for the enterprise platform's core components providing a gateway to the firm's business applications, content and tools
This position will be responsible for User Interface (UI) design and development. This includes direct involvement in a number of initiatives as a UX/UI design resource. The candidate will be responsible for producing storyboards that document the user journey through the site or application. The role must also be capable of producing wireframes designs and translating these into working prototypes using HTML/CSS and JavaScript. In addition, the candidate will be indirectly involved in other portal initiatives to provide design and user experience best practices and standards through design review processes. The candidate must have a solid understanding of various web technologies and have past experience in web development projects and related training.
Having a passion for design and seeing those designs through the full software development life cycle is key to this role. Designing, developing and implementing new pages as well as creating intuitive interfaces and user interactions for both desktop and mobile devices are integral to this position.
Work as a team player in a global development group participating in requirements and data analysis, design and especially as a lead user interface designer and developer
Work closely with business users to understand the UI requirements and translate requirements into wireframes and storyboards
Create UI visual designs with the ability to produce graphics (images, icons, logos, etc.) as necessary
Develop working prototypes using HTML/CSS/JavaScript based on UI designs
Direct involvement in development projects to produce storyboards, wireframes, design mock-ups, and working prototypes using HTML/CSS/JS
Understand graphics optimization, browser compatibility, internationalization (i18N) and accessibility
Provide cross-project design reviews to ensure best practices and standards are adopted throughout the portals
Strong analytical skills, self-motivated and capable of working in a dynamic environment that demands multi-tasking.
Ability to present ideas and designs to stakeholders and adapt work based on reviews and direct feedback
Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
Ability to generate ideas and efficiently mock up proposals and orchestrate demos
Communicate and collaborate between the infrastructure, development and business groups.

Basic Requirements:
B.S. degree in computer science or related field with emphasis on technology

years of experience in software development or related fields
3
years of experience in UI/UX design and/or development

Qualifications:
Working experience in financial industry
Experience with storyboarding and prototyping
Advanced experience with XHTML, CSS, JavaScript (AJAX / JSON)
Advanced experience using Adobe Photoshop and other graphical editing tools
Proven delivery track record of user interface design and development projects
Previous experience with mobile and tablet UI design patterns and practices is a plus
HTML5 skills a plus with Mobile application development experience
Working knowledge with various JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, ExtJS, YUI, etc)
Overall understanding of web architectures
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior management level project sponsors and stakeholders
Willingness to learn new technologies & applications a must
Exceptional attention to detail
End-to-end lifecycle experience of systems development & implementation project
Can do attitude with willingness to accept challenges and develop innovative approaches
Candidate should be able to diagnose problems quickly and independently.
