Define Best Practices for product configurations, software choices, interoperability
Investigation of new technologies and integration to the business
Undertake product evaluation for acceptance into the IAAS infrastructure
Definition and documentation of IAAS strategy, standards and procedures and enforcement of same
Detailed design of infrastructure components to support multiple IAAS infrastructures
Accountable for end-to-end system technical designs
Review and understand component designs to build knowledge and understand how these fit within an end-to-end system design
Testing of all design components in testing facility
Manage all software engineering quality standards and benchmarks
Production of all Infrastructure Design Architecture documents
Assist deployment function in production delivery
Assist IAAS Support team problem management process to obtain root cause of significant incidents
Assistance to other IT teams on system build and architectures
Requirements
Four-year college degree
5
years of experience in IT
5
years experience with Redhat Linux or any other flavour
5
years experience Enterprise solutions
5
years Experience in IAAS infrastructures in large corporate organisations
3+ years Experience of merging multiple IAAS infrastructures to a converged entity
5
years hands on with configuration management tools e.g. Puppet/Chef
Preferred
Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of Shell/Python, scripting/programming skills:
Excellent knowledge and application of the OOP paradigm.
Knowledge of the design patterns and their application in Python.
Knowledge of the SQL and interaction with various RDBMS:
Ability to create various SQL queries
Knowledge of ORMS
Knowledge of the HTTP protocol and the most common data formats
XML, JSON
Be capable to Design & deploy large/complexed IAAS infrastructures
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals

Knowledge of Virtualisation technology
Experience of interoperability with other IAAS 3rd party products
Knowledge of Javascript, jQuery
Ability to liaise with business as well as technical personnel to produce solutions acceptable to all partiesAdvanced degree
Knowledge of HA Linux solutions e.g. pacemaker/veritas
Knowledge of puppet/Chef large scale implementations
Knowledge of system architecture for cloud infrastructure
Version Control Software (SVN / GIT/ CVS)
