The successful candidate will play a key part in the development of a new trading platform which uses WPF, Java and Oracle in the technology stack. This platform is being developed as part of a multi-year initiative and will replace several legacy applications along with the way.

The candidate is expected to have proven skills across the development lifecycle from assisting requirements elicitation through to design, development, build, test and implementation. Proven expertise in building robust, testable, scalable and highly robust systems is required. Business analysts will provide support in the larger projects although the role requires the ability to deal directly with the trading desk and business leaders.

The successful candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills as they will be required to work with people across multiple global offices. An ability to work with tight deadlines is required for success in this role. The candidate should be familiar with the securities industry; knowledge of stock lending and Equity Finance is highly desirable although not essential.

Job Responsibilities
Gathering and refining user and technical requirements from stakeholders, principally focused on position and collateral management within Securities Lending, i.e. Settlement Ladders, Bilateral and Tri-party workflows.
Engage with trading desk and, where necessary, technology counterparts at external clients.
Design, develop the core rate management and pricing system and work with other developers in other teams for consistent integration of services and flows.
Enforces discipline across the software development lifecycle including test driven development.
Help support our environment and effective utilization of the platform. Ensure that systems run well in production, are highly available at disaster recovery and have sufficient capacity.
Required Skills

Essential
In depth knowledge of Java 6/7
Excellent understand of Spring/JDBC/JMS/Caching (Gemfire/Coherence/etc)
In depth knowledge of Java Transaction Management
Hands on experience with J2EE(JDBC, JNDI, JMS), Tomcat a plus
Strong knowledge of JMS and MOM desirable. MQ Series
Knowledge of ESB concepts and particularly Mule is a plus.
Experience of working on highly scalable & highly available systems
Performance and monitoring tools
Proven experience working in financial markets
Ability to organize a development plan to meet agreed deadlines and excellent understanding of software development lifecycle
Understanding of the securities lending business and how availability, locates and short selling coverage works
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work with a global team

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
