About the job The role as R&D Data Strategist will shape, lead, and evolve our R&D's Data Strategy vision and will focus on establishing and integrating strategic data activities across R&D including defining frameworks covering broader organization.
This role will closely work with multiple transversal teams and key stakeholders across R&D and will be part of the Data Science & AI organization.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Director R&D Data Strategy are to:
Set direction and create roadmap for R&D wide data strategy that will deliver on business goals in close partnership with R&D functions.
Ensure the delivery and execution of roadmap.
Identify and implement core elements of data asset life cycle management (e.
g.
ethical data usage, data investments, data cataloguing) Partner with scientific experts and R&D leadership to develop and implement world class Data Strategy to provide a competitive advantage in disease understanding, biomarker development, target validation, speed to develop medicines and probability of success in humans.
Oversee, enable, and steer acquisition and value generation of external data assets.
In close collaboration with other DSAI functions, partner with IT and establish the provision of technical infrastructure & know-how for big data, data science ready data ingestion and processing.
Contribute R&D views into the design and implementation of scalable, efficient, automated processes for Data Management Required
Qualifications:
Master's degree in biomedical sciences, Bioinformatics or Chemistry with a strong background in Data Science or Data Analytics Several years of experience in the fields of Data Strategy, Governance, Data Products, Data Architecture, Data Science and Data Value with a focus in life sciences industry Experience in pharma/biotech R&D from target discovery through clinical development Good degree of familiarity with datasets needed for precision medicine, translational research, and clinical development.
Digital literacy and proven ability to drive transformation using novel technologies.
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking plus a solid experience with digital solution roadmaps, blueprints, and designing programs for real world solutions.
Broad expertise in communicating and interacting with a diverse set of stakeholders, senior leadership, scientists, engineers and product managers, procurement and contracting, to elicit requirements for, and participation and engagement in data initiatives.
Data literacy and the ability to articulate and translate opportunities with data to a general audience.
Working with distributed teams across time zones and in matrix format is a must as well as the ability to work autonomously and effectively with global teams.
Team player with the ability to drive cross-disciplinary collaborations while demonstrating humility and resiliency.
Fluent in English both written and spoken.
Preferred
Qualifications:
PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics or Chemistry with a background in Data Science or Data Analytics Prior experience in consulting roles Experience in technology set-up for acquiring, managing, and using R&D Data - preferably research, pre-clinical and clinical data.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
